FAQs
How long will my order take?
Every item is lovingly handmade to order. For Booties, Hats, and Announcements, please allow 4–7 days. For our Cardigans and larger orders, our current lead time is 2–3 weeks. I always aim to get your items to you as soon as possible!
I need my order quickly—can you help?
If you need your handmade pieces for a specific date or a last-minute surprise, please contact me before ordering. I will always do my best to fit you in if my schedule allows! For a faster journey through the post, you can also select Tracked 24hr Postage at checkout.
Can I send an order as a gift?
Absolutely! Our pregnancy announcements and sets come beautifully boxed as standard. For our other pieces, we offer a dedicated Gift Wrapping Service to make your arrival even more special. We are also more than happy to ship directly to the recipient—perfect for a surprise delivery! Just leave your gift message in the "Notes" section at checkout.
What yarn do you use?
I use premium Stylecraft Special DK yarn. It’s chosen specifically for being cloud-soft against delicate skin, while also being durable enough for everyday wear and "wiggly toes."
How should I wash my crochet items?
To keep your handmade pieces looking their best, I recommend a gentle hand wash or a cool machine wash at 30°C. Reshape while damp and allow to air dry—only tumble dry on low!
How do I know which size to choose?
To help you find the perfect fit, I have a detailed Size Guide available with approximate measurements for our booties and hats. Since babies grow at their own pace, I generally recommend sizing up if you are unsure—this ensures your little one gets plenty of wear out of their handmade piece!
Can I cancel my order?
As I begin preparing your handmade items shortly after they are placed, I can only accept cancellations within 3 hours of ordering. If you need to cancel, please email me as soon as possible with your order number, and I will process your refund immediately.
What is your return policy?
I want you to love your Twisted by the Sea purchase! If you change your mind, standard items can be returned in their original, unworn condition within 30 days of delivery, please contact me within 14 days of receipt.
Please Note: Due to their bespoke nature, personalised items (such as custom pregnancy reveals) cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive faulty. If there is an issue with your order, please contact me immediately so I can make it right.
What should I do if my order hasn't arrived?
While Royal Mail provides estimated delivery times, please remember these are estimates and not guarantees. Once your handmade items leave my studio, their journey is in the hands of the postal service.
In the rare event of a delay, Royal Mail does not officially consider a parcel "lost" until a specific timeframe has passed:
- UK Orders: 10 working days after the date of posting.
- International Orders: 28 working days after the date of posting.
If your order hasn’t arrived after these windows, please contact me with your order number so I can look into it for you.
Do you offer express shipping?
Yes! While every item still requires time to be hand-stitched, you can choose your preferred delivery speed at checkout. We offer a range of Royal Mail services to suit you:
UK Shipping:
- Standard: 2nd Class Large Letter (Best for single booties or hats).
- Tracked 48: Delivery aim of 2 working days with end-to-end tracking.
- Tracked 24: Delivery aim of 1 working day (Express) with end-to-end tracking.
- Small Parcel: Available in both 24hr and 48hr Tracked for larger orders or boxed gift sets.
Please note: Choosing express shipping speeds up the delivery time with Royal Mail, but does not change the 4–7 day / 2–3 week processing time needed to make your items.
