The Beginning of My Crochet Journey

I'm Jennie, the hands and heart behind Twisted by the Sea. My crochet journey began in an unexpected yet meaningful way — while working in a care home. I joined residents in crafting blankets for children in Africa. Inspired by their kindness, I picked up a hook, turned to YouTube tutorials, and taught myself to do more than just a granny square. I quickly found myself completely hooked — quite literally!

From Passion to Handmade Creations

What started as a simple curiosity soon became a true passion (and a bit of an obsession). There’s something magical about transforming a strand of yarn into something beautiful — especially when crafting for little ones. From delicate booties and snuggly hats to soft, cosy cardigans, every stitch I make is filled with warmth, love, and meticulous attention to detail.

A New Chapter – Twisted by the Sea

Originally, I shared my handmade creations through Crochet And I Handmade, but after moving to the coast, I felt it was time for a fresh chapter — one that reflects both my love for crochet and my seaside surroundings. And so, Twisted by the Sea was born.
